Based in Benington near Boston, Lincolnshire we are recognised as one of the most progressive vegetable suppliers in the UK committed to investing in its staff equipment and innovation.

 

Due to continued expansion and restructuring in our farming operations, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Farm Operations Manager.

 

The Role:

The successful applicant will assist in the management of over 11,000 acres of production with predominantly brassicas, potatoes, and cereal crops. Reporting directly to the Head of Farming, the applicant would be based at Benington working with the existing production team in North and South Lincolnshire and Cornwall, your duties will include:

 

  • Day to day management of resources for a team of 3 crop Managers

  • Maximizing efficient utilisation of farm equipment

  • Planning daily machinery movements to minimise down time

  • Arranging efficient deliveries to and from field locations

  • Working with Labour providers and our own staff to ensure sufficient harvesting capacity

  • Staff Management

  • Health and safety

 

The person:

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have extensive practical agricultural skills as well as an understanding of modern systems and processes. You will have good IT skills and be able to use packages such as Gatekeeper and Excel as well as being familiar with machine telematics and have a positive approach to new technology and automation. You will be forward thinking with excellent communication and people skills and have experience in managing and motivating teams.
