More about our Cauliflowers

  • Cauliflower has been grown in the UK since the 17th Century.
  • It can be eaten either raw or cooked and features in many dishes such as Cauliflower Cheese, Curries and Salads.
  • It can also be cooked many ways - roasted, stir fried, boiled and steamed to name just a few. Cauliflower can also be blitzed into Cauliflower rice or Cous Cous for a healthier alternative.
  • In 1861 Cauliflower Cheese was referred to in Mrs Beetons books of household management.  Now it's one of Britains favourite accompaniments to a Sunday Roast Dinner.
  • Cauliflower is an excellent source of Vitamin C, K and B6. Also, it's high in dietary fibre and omega-3 fatty acids.
  • The head of the Cauliflower is white due to the leaves covering the head stopping light getting to it.
  • It is at its best from Mid-December to Mid-April.
